Most people use AI the same way every session: open a chat, explain the task, get output, close the tab. Tomorrow they repeat it. The AI does not remember yesterday. The workflow does not either.

Everything I write here builds on four ideas. They form a chain — each one causes or reveals the next. If you read nothing else, read these.
The Typist Trap is using AI session-by-session instead of system-to-system. The AI types faster than you, but it has no memory, no standards, and no pattern recognition across your work. The speed gain is real. The leverage is not. Most people are stuck here and do not know it, because the output looks productive.
The Amnesia Tax is the hidden cost you pay every time you re-explain yourself to an AI that forgot everything from yesterday. Your preferences, your constraints, your decisions, your voice — all gone. You rebuild context from scratch, session after session, and call it "using AI." The tax is invisible because you have never seen the system that removes it.
Intelligence Leaks are what the Amnesia Tax actually destroys. Every forgotten instruction, every re-explained preference, every decision that gets relitigated instead of referenced — that is value leaving the system. Intelligence Leaks are the reason your AI work does not compound. You are not building on previous sessions. You are replacing them.
Compiled Thinking is the fix. It is what happens when AI stops writing for you and starts compiling — transforming raw input into structured output according to rules defined once. Instead of improvising every session, you build a system: constraints that persist, decisions that accumulate, standards that hold. The AI becomes a compiler, not a typist.
